I was trying to just extract the video into a raw form and see what I could do with it, maybe with that avc2avi or something. *sigh* Probably never will be though with the way things constantly change. My computer? CCCP (before I uninstalled it)? AnimeSuki's choice of playback solution? The fansubbers? Or all of the above? Seems to me there still isn't an end-all be-all community "pack" or solution to all problems. It just bothers me when my computer won't do something that I know that it is supposed to be able to do. (btw, I enabled vfw for xvid in the ffdshow vfw config too so that's how I got Blood+ to open) GSpot is identifying BK's release as the exact same format as Bleach, Suzuka, and Elfen Lied (while still saying xvid isn't installed) and yet there no's problem. Now's the weird part: Bakakozou's Blood+ opens in vdubmod great and without a script. Getting the same result with Lunar's avi/xvid releases of Bleach and Suzuka. GSpot is telling me it's in xvid and that the xvid codec isn't installed, when it clearly is since I can play it. Also, no sound "preview" when playing.Īnime_fin's Elfen Lied requires a script to load. I can do the normal stuff but the actual visual "preview" of the video doesn't actually show unless I hit play on vdubmod. Tried Shinsen's Advent Children and had to use a script as well and it works in vdubmod but it doesn't really like it all too much. Not sure if I should have to go through avisynth this way but I do and it works so meh.Īlso, decided to test some other files. I ended up getting some files to work using Quark's suggestion (KAA's Bleach) but then couldn't get some others to work that way (Lunar's recent h.264 releases), so I went ahead and tried this just to see if it would work. The reason that you cannot use CCCP is that their customized version of ffdshow does not have vfw. Go to ffdshow configuration and you'll see vfw configuration. Follow the instructions in the AnimeSuki Playback Help Guide ().ģ. It seems to me, everything is acting like I don't have the codec installed when I know I do. I can get audio and subtitles but no video out. I click to extract and a split second latter a dialog comes up "Files demuxed", when they apparently weren't. I tried MKVextract and I can't even get the h.264 out. "Couldn't locate decompressor for format "yyyy" (unknown)." then the usual VFW codec error. If so we strongly advise you to use another tool to safely process your file." It gets through the mkv parsing and then comes up with errors:Ī whole bunch of "A frame of stream 1 (at xxxx ms) had only a forward reference (maybe broken file)." Then "The video may have a variable framerate.
I'm trying to get VirtualDubMod to open up MKV files with h.264 video. I have literally looked at every thread on every major anime and/or video editing forum and haven't found a solution to my problem, so I finally decided to ask here.
